Creek Excursions

Come join us for a creek excursion at the Woodlands Nature Reserve in Historic Dorchester County! The Woodlands Nature Reserve was once part of the historical plantation scene era so in addition to finding fossils, you will get to learn a little about the human history of the area as well! Today, the Woodlands Nature Reserve is a 6,000 acre parcel that is dedicated to preserving nature in all of her glory and sharing it with anyone that wishes to see it! Palmetto Fossil Excursions is excited to be a part of such an incredible property and reserves exclusive access to the fossil rich creeks that are hidden deep within the property! As part of this adventure, you will learn about sustainable hunting practices including fanning and hand sifting as shovels and sifters are not allowed! No worries there though, these creeks are essentially untouched and loaded with hidden treasures just waiting to be found!
